The Police Service Commission (PSC) has dismissed as fake a purported police recruitment shortlist currently circulating on social media and other online platforms, warning applicants and members of the public not to fall victim to fraudsters exploiting the ongoing recruitment exercise.

In a statement, the Commission clarified that it had not released any new shortlist for recruitment or medical screening and urged applicants to disregard any unofficial documents claiming to contain the names of successful candidates. The PSC emphasized that all legitimate recruitment information would be communicated through its authorized channels and official recruitment portal.

The Commission expressed concern over the increasing activities of scammers who create fake recruitment lists and screening notices to deceive unsuspecting applicants. It reiterated that the police recruitment process remains transparent and free of charge, stressing that no individual or group has been authorized to demand money in exchange for recruitment opportunities.

The development comes amid heightened public interest in the ongoing police recruitment exercise, with thousands of young Nigerians seeking opportunities to join the Nigeria Police Force. The Commission assured applicants that any genuine shortlist, screening schedule, or recruitment update would be publicly announced through the appropriate official platforms.

The PSC urged applicants to remain patient and vigilant while the recruitment process continues, emphasizing that transparency and merit remain the guiding principles of the exercise. Those with questions or concerns were encouraged to seek clarification directly from official PSC communication channels rather than relying on information circulating online.
