The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has appointed four senior members of staff to the position of Directors.
The Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, conveyed the approval of the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, to the newly-appointed Directors recently in Abuja.
The new Directors are: Mrs. Funmilola Fauzziyyah B. Usman, Director, Information Technology Services (ITS) Department; Mr. Abdulsalam Mohammed, Director, Procurement Department; Mr. Jauro Jamilu, Director, Ilorin Zonal Office(HA) and Mr. Olukayode Dada, Director, JAMB Training School, Kaduna.
During the investiture ceremony, the Registrar charged the new appointees to live up to the expectations of their offices.
He congratulated them on their elevation and urged them to approach their responsibilities with diligence and a strong sense of duty. He stated: “While I congratulate you on your well-deserved appointments, I urge you not to treat your roles as Directors with levity. These positions come with significant responsibilities and must not be taken for granted.” He disclosed that a request seeking approval to appoint three additional directors is currently before the Minister, and that the Board would proceed with the appointments once approval is granted.
In a related development, the Board also bade farewell to Mr. David Ayodele Akanbi, former Director, Test Development Department, along with fifteen other distinguished members of staff, who have retired from the service of the Board after years of meritorious service.
Speaking on behalf of the retirees, Mr. Akanbi expressed gratitude to the Board for the opportunity to serve. He advised the newly-appointed Directors to remain committed to excellence in the discharge of their duties and to uphold the Board’s motto, “Service and Integrity,” as their personal guiding principle.
He noted that doing so would enable them to exit the Board with their heads held high and their reputations intact.
The Board commended the retirees for their invaluable contributions to its growth and development and wished them success in their future endeavours.
