From Dispatch Room
The Supreme Court has restored the Senator David Mark-led executive of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, after setting aside the Court of Appeal’s order directing parties in the leadership dispute to maintain status quo.
The decision was delivered in the appeal involving Senator David Mark and Nafiu Bala Gombe over the control of the party’s national leadership.
The apex court held that the status quo order made by the Court of Appeal could no longer stand, a development that effectively returns recognition to the David Mark-led leadership pending further proceedings.
The case is expected to return to the trial court for full determination of the substantive issues in the ADC leadership dispute.
More details to follow.
