Caption: President Ruto of Kenya
A video trended on social media some days ago where Kenya’s President fired a verbal ‘salvo’ at Nigeria. In the video, he said something to the effect that Nigerians don’t speak good English.

Nigerians of course took this as a friendly jab but also did not take it lightly.
However, at the on going Kenyan Mining Investment Conference and Exhibition, Nigeria’s Minister of Solid minerals development and chairman Africa Minerals Strategy Group (AMSG), Dele Alake wasn’t about to let the opportunity of a response slide at the event. — he fired back with a smooth diplomatic broadside in his opening speech. Dele told President Ruto who was sitting right there that he’s assuring the Kenyan president and people that Nigerians speak impeccable English ! The hall exploded into raucous laughter. And the Kenyan minister of mines Alli Joho gave credence to Dele’s assertion stating that Nigerians speak such good English that one Nigerian used good English to gain President Ruto’s daughter’s hand in marriage !
Not to be outdone, President Ruto jumped on stage for ‘round two’ keeping the banter alive. By then, the entire conference hall at the mining event in Nairobi was in stitches, enjoying what felt like a friendly roast session between two heavyweight speakers.
Now, what many people don’t know is that Kenya’s President is our in-law.
A Nigerian law Professor Dr. Alexander Ezenagu came to Kenya some years ago with his full chest , spoke some very good English, took the president’s eldest daughter, June Ruto and brought her to #nigeria and now she speaks good English
Well, dear President Ruto, our dear in-law, apology accepted.
