Turkish Airlines and Air Peace have signed a Bilateral Special Prorate Agreement aimed at improving travel connectivity between Nigeria, Africa, and key destinations across the world.

The agreement, announced in a statement by Air Peace spokesperson, Efe Osifo-Whiskey, is expected to make international and regional travel more seamless for passengers of both airlines. Under the arrangement, travelers will be able to enjoy single-ticket travel, better coordinated flight schedules, and easier baggage handling across selected routes.

According to the statement, the deal will allow Turkish Airlines passengers arriving in Lagos to connect more smoothly to Air Peace’s domestic and regional services. In the same vein, Air Peace passengers will gain easier access to Turkish Airlines’ extensive international network through Istanbul, opening up routes to Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.

Speaking on the agreement, Dr. Özlem Özyön, Senior Vice-President for International Relations and Alliances at Turkish Airlines, said the partnership reflects the carrier’s commitment to deepening its footprint across Africa. She noted that combining Turkish Airlines’ global network with Air Peace’s regional reach would offer passengers more travel options, greater convenience, and improved accessibility.

Also commenting, Air Peace Chief Commercial Officer, Nowel Ngala, described the agreement as a major step in positioning Nigeria more firmly within the global aviation map. He said the integration of both airlines’ networks would simplify journeys, cut travel stress, and strengthen Nigeria’s place as an important aviation gateway.

Ngala added that Turkish Airlines currently deploys modern wide-body aircraft on its Lagos operations, offering premium onboard services, award-winning catering, and advanced in-flight entertainment. He also highlighted Air Peace’s growing fleet of more than 50 aircraft, including B777s, B737s, and Embraer jets, as a sign of the airline’s expanding influence in Africa’s aviation sector.

The partnership comes at a time when airlines are increasingly seeking strategic alliances to widen market access, improve passenger experience, and strengthen route networks in a competitive global industry.
