The media team of Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji has alleged a planned propaganda campaign aimed at discrediting the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate ahead of the August 15 governorship election in Osun State.

In a statement issued by the AMBO Media Fronts and signed by its coordinator, Adedeji Adebayo Elder, the group claimed it had uncovered a coordinated effort by the administration of Ademola Adeleke to circulate negative and misleading narratives across multiple media platforms.

The group alleged that the campaign would involve the spread of falsehoods and damaging reports targeting Oyebamiji, whom it described as a rising political figure gaining support across the state.

According to the statement, the alleged move follows what it described as unsuccessful attempts to link the APC candidate to wrongdoing. It further claimed that the strategy is intended to weaken his electoral chances through sustained media attacks.

The media team urged residents of Osun State to remain cautious of what it termed “baseless publications” and to focus on issues it believes are more critical to governance and public accountability.

Among the concerns raised were questions about the management of public funds, including a N2 billion federal government grant reportedly earmarked for transportation initiatives, and a N12 billion ecological fund released in 2025.

The statement also referenced broader economic concerns in the state, including rising tuition costs in public universities and ongoing challenges related to poverty and living conditions.

It called on the current administration to campaign based on its performance rather than engaging in what it described as political mudslinging.

The statement concluded by expressing confidence in Oyebamiji’s candidacy and urged voters to make decisions based on what it termed credible leadership alternatives.

Efforts to reach the Osun State Government for response were not immediately successful as of the time of filing this report.
