It is often said that title races are not won in one match, but in the accumulation of control over time. For Arsenal, that control is now visible in both the table and the mathematics of what remains. Even a defeat at the Etihad against Manchester City does not necessarily derail the path to the Premier League crown.
Arsenal have seven games left, City have eight. If Arsenal win their four remaining home fixtures, they collect 12 points, taking them from 71 to 83. City, meanwhile, can reach a maximum of 85 if they are perfect, but any single slip changes the equation immediately. One defeat reduces them to 82, even if they win everything else.
That is the crux of the scenario, Arsenal do not need perfection, only control. Four home wins, combined with City dropping just one result somewhere in their run-in, is enough to decide the title. Even with a loss at the Etihad, the structure of the run-in keeps Arsenal firmly in the driving seat.
