🔴 Breaking News:

The Chairman of the ADC in Kano State, Musa Shuaibu Ungogo, confirmed the development in an interview with Newspot, stating that discussions with Gawuna have been concluded and arrangements are underway for his formal reception into the party.

Ungogo revealed that the party is currently finalizing the process of receiving its new national political figure, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, after which Gawuna will be officially welcomed.

“Dr. Nasir Yusuf Gawuna has expressed his intention to join the ADC, and we are very pleased about it. I can assure you that we are concluding arrangements to receive Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and after that, Gawuna will follow. We will fix a date for his formal defection,” Ungogo said.

Speaking on the reasons behind the planned defections, Ungogo noted that both Kwankwaso and Gawuna are driven by concerns over the challenges facing Northern Nigeria, particularly insecurity and socio-economic issues.

“The situation in the North is what is motivating them. They are patriotic individuals who are committed to finding solutions to the region’s problems. They believe that if given the opportunity under the ADC, these challenges can be addressed,” he added.

The ADC has recently witnessed a surge in political interest, with analysts observing that the party could emerge as a major force if it successfully consolidates these high-profile defections.

However, political observers have cautioned that internal party dynamics, particularly the contest for the party’s presidential ticket could pose challenges. Potential contenders such as Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and Peter Obi may test the party’s unity when the time for primaries arrives.

Recent political engagements suggest a possible alignment among the key figures. Peter Obi recently paid a Sallah visit to Kwankwaso in Kano, while Kwankwaso also visited the residence of Atiku Abubakar over the weekend.

Despite these developments, analysts note that Nigeria’s political landscape remains fluid, and alliances can shift rapidly as events unfold.
