MATTERS ARISING
Governor Enoβs United Kingdom Engagement
One of the defining moments of the week was Governor Enoβs participation in the United Kingdom visit alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the invitation of King Charles III.
This engagement goes beyond ceremonial optics. It signals a growing alignment between the Governor and the centre, as well as increasing national recognition of his leadership.
Not long ago, Governor Enoβs candidacy was dismissed in some quarters. Today, less than three years into office, he is firmly positioned within conversations that extend beyond the state.
His inclusion in the presidential delegation reflects confidence at the highest level and presents an opportunity for Akwa Ibom State to strengthen its case for strategic federal support, particularly on projects such as the Ibom Deep Seaport.
Post-Trip Briefing: Investment, Power, and the Seaport Vision
Speaking on arrival at the Victor Attah International Airport, Governor Eno highlighted the practical outcomes of the trip, particularly investor engagements in the power sector.
He reaffirmed his administrationβs commitment to long-term reforms, noting that progress in infrastructure requires patience and sustained effort.
According to him, both the power sector transformation and the Ibom Deep Seaport project are already in motion, but must follow due process to achieve lasting results.
The Governor acknowledged public expectations for rapid delivery but emphasized that meaningful development is incremental and deliberate.
His assurance remains clear: the state is moving forward, step by step, with credible interest from investors and structured engagement already underway.
A TRIBUTE TO REV. UMA UKPAI
At the Night of Songs and Tributes, Governor Eno described the late Rev. (Dr.) Uma Ukpai as a defining spiritual force in the state.
He noted that for over six decades, the cleric shaped the moral and spiritual landscape of Akwa Ibom, using his influence to uplift both leaders and ordinary citizens.
Through the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, headquartered in Uyo, the late evangelist built a global ministry that impacted generations.
Governor Eno acknowledged his role as a mentor and strong supporter of the administrationβs ARISE Agenda, noting that many of the governmentβs current initiatives align with the values the late cleric championed.
He assured the family of the stateβs continued support in preserving and advancing the legacy of a man widely regarded as a spiritual father to many.
ON DILIGENCE AND SERVICE: A MESSAGE TO YOUNG PEOPLE
At the child dedication of Barr. Morgan Ekanemβs daughter, Governor Eno delivered a message centered on diligence and excellence.
Using Ekanemβs service as a reference point, the Governor emphasized that commitment to oneβs responsibilities naturally attracts recognition and opportunity.
He encouraged young people to distinguish themselves through hard work, consistency, and integrity, stressing that excellence remains a reliable pathway to influence and success.
REFLECTION
This weekβs engagements reflect a Governor balancing governance with visibility, and local responsibility with broader relevance.
From Uyo to Windsor, the trajectory is becoming clearer: steady leadership, deliberate engagement, and a growing presence in spaces that matter.
This is where I draw the curtain for the week. I will return with more updates on the activities of your Governor.
