Seeking validation is natural. But beyond that instinct, Governor Umo Eno governs as though public service is a solemn duty, one that demands urgency, discipline, and results. That reality has endured far longer than any campaign performance or political pretence often displayed to win elections. Governor Eno’s style of leadership has been consistent, deliberate, and unmistakable. Truth be told, he stands in a class of his own.

For some time now, I have been labeled a praise singer rather than recognized in my official capacity as Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State. But on reflection, that label misses the point. When people who are fully aware of Governor Eno’s performance, remarkable by any fair standard, resort to social media attacks simply because they have lost power or relevance, should silence be the response? Someone must put the record straight.

So let everyone gather here, praise singers and critics alike. Even those who pretend neutrality are often working for unseen paymasters. That is their choice. But allow others the freedom to acknowledge performance when it is evident. Light cannot be hidden, and Governor Eno’s leadership continues to shine, quietly but firmly, connecting the dots of development across all 31 local government areas in fulfillment of his campaign promises.

Insults may come, and they always do. But leadership, on the other hand, is not diminished by noise. History has always had a way of settling scores more honestly than online outrage ever could.

The fact that a governor who inherited gratuity arrears exceeding ₦100 billion and has paid over ₦80 billion in less than three years is nothing but phenomenal. Should such an effort be dismissed? If not this, then what qualifies for commendation? The truth is uncomfortable for some, but facts remain facts.

In more mature political environments, many of the loudest critics today would be leading voices for continuity. Instead, loyalty to personal ambition often overrides loyalty to public good. That is unfortunate, but predictable. Still, let it be known that many of us are committed to a politics of peace, performance, and fairness. No one holds a monopoly on insults, but responsibility should guide public discourse.

By every measurable standard, Governor Umo Eno ranks among the strongest-performing governors Akwa Ibom State has produced since 1999. That assertion is not emotional, it is empirical. His administration has delivered people-centred projects across all local governments simultaneously, a record unmatched by his predecessors. This is fact, not fiction.

Across agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, security, and education, the ARISE Agenda has moved from blueprint to visible reality. Each pillar reflects intent matched with execution. These are not promises deferred, they are outcomes delivered.

As the political season intensifies, let it be understood that false narratives will not go unanswered. Correcting the record is not confrontation, it is responsibility, especially for readers who deserve truth over distortion.

Governor Umo Eno’s legacy is taking shape not through slogans, but through service. In doing so, he has set a compelling template for good leadership, one that resonates beyond Akwa Ibom and speaks to Nigeria and West Africa at large.

You can take that to the bank.
