The Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria, Most Revd Henry Ndukuba, has declared that the new battle against insecurity in Nigeria and persecution of Christians is part of God’s plan to bring peace and solace to his faithful.
Speaking at St Paul’s Anglican Church Oba in Anambra State on Sunday, December 28, he assured Christians and Nigerians that God’s judgment against terrorists and bandits had started , and the country would soon experience peace.
Recounting the challenges at the beginning of the year, including economic hardships and fuel price hikes, the Primate credited survival thus far to God’s grace.
He attributed recent security developments to divine intervention, dismissing claims of government collaboration and highlighting the effectiveness of external support. “What God is doing to protect Christians is beyond human comprehension,” he said.
He asked rhetoriçally: ” Why are they now picking some leaders who are backers of these terrorists now that Trump’s threat is real”.
The occasion was a Reception and Thanksgiving service for Bishop Gideon Ilechukwu. AMC Lead Missioner ( Anglican Missionary Congregations United Kingdom and Ireland) and his wife, Dr Mrs Chioma, celebrating their missionary work in the UK and Europe.

The Primate praised Bishop Ilechukwu’s efforts, noting satisfactory progress in church planting, and prayed for continued empowerment.
Bishop Ilechukwu expressed gratitude to the Primate and his wife for their support. ” From the bottom of my heart they are my mentors . They stood by me inspite of sponsored spurious allegations against me to scuttle the spread of the gospel.
He shared challenges faced in his mission, including lack of resources. He gave glory to God for progress made, citing 25 churches planted and more in the pipeline. The Oba community presented him with a new Lexus jeep in appreciation and support of his work.
