The Police Service Commission (PSC) has received the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Mr. Olusegun Alebiosu, on a courtesy visit to its Corporate Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, in a move aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration.
The visit, which took place on Thursday, December 18, 2025, focused on renewing and deepening the existing strategic partnership between the Commission and First Bank, with emphasis on operational efficiency, staff welfare, and collaborative initiatives that support transparency and ethical policing in Nigeria.
Receiving the First Bank delegation, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), mni, expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to sustaining cordial and mutually beneficial relationships with credible private sector institutions.
According to the PSC Chairman, partnerships with reputable organisations such as First Bank are critical to building a professional, accountable, and citizen-centred policing system that aligns with national reform objectives.
Discussions during the meeting highlighted opportunities for deeper cooperation that would benefit the Commission, the Nigeria Police Force, and the country at large, particularly in areas that strengthen institutional capacity and ethical standards.
Also present during the visit were DIG (Dr.) Taiwo Lakanu (rtd), a Board Member of the Commission and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Nigeria Police Force Matters, as well as the Secretary to the Commission, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani. Both officials expressed optimism that the renewed partnership would yield tangible benefits for policing administration in Nigeria.
The engagement underscores the PSC’s ongoing efforts to leverage strategic partnerships in support of police oversight, institutional integrity, and public trust.
