The Police Service Commission (PSC), in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has officially announced the commencement of the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables, following the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
The mass recruitment drive, PSC said, is aimed at strengthening community policing, boosting internal security, and expanding the manpower capacity of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to a statement released on Thursday by Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, the recruitment portal will open on Monday, 15 December 2025, and close on Sunday, 25 January 2026. Interested applicants are required to submit their applications exclusively online via the official portal: www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng.
Qualifications and Eligibility
The Commission outlined the following requirements for interested applicants:
General Duty Cadre
- Minimum of five (5) O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings (GCE, SSCE/NECO or equivalent).
- Age: 18–25 years.
- Height requirement: 1.67m (male) and 1.64m (female).
Specialist Cadre
- Minimum of four (4) O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
- Three years of relevant experience and Trade Test certificates.
- Age: 18–28 years.
All applicants must also be Nigerian citizens by birth and must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit.
Transparency and Zero Cost
The PSC emphasized that the recruitment exercise will be carried out in a transparent, credible, and merit-based manner.
It further stressed that application is completely FREE, warning applicants to beware of fraudsters and unofficial intermediaries.
Full guidelines, requirements, and updates will be available via the official recruitment portal once activated, as well as through the official websites and social media channels of both the PSC and NPF.
The Commission urged qualified Nigerians to “seize this opportunity to serve the nation” as part of ongoing reforms to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture.
