Speaking in an interview on ‘The Morning Brief’, a programme on Channels Television monitored by Newspot on Monday, the 63-year-old victim, who did not provide her name said they have no where to lay their heads.

”We are not goats; we are not animals. The government should please help us. What they did was that, before the demolition, we saw them giving some people N200,000 and N300,000 and they were giving it to the indigene. Even most of the people that collected the money don’t have a home. They are indigenous people of Oworonshoki.

“We were not told that they were coming to our area to demolish. And even if they want to demolish our houses, will N200,000 be enough to get us a new house? I’m going with my children. I can’t leave them. We stay inside this tank and they came there to burn it.
