Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke says the government has activated major security measures to prevent bandit infiltration following rising attacks in neighbouring states. The governor explained on Saturday that multiple security meetings were held in the last three weeks with top security chiefs and community stakeholders in border areas to strengthen vigilance and tighten response capacity.

Adeleke noted that the Inspector General of Police, the Director General of the DSS, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the Commandant General of the NSCDC have all placed special attention on Osun. He added that fresh strategic deployments are already underway across identified locations in the state.

The governor urged residents to remain calm, law-abiding, and quick to report any suspicious movements. He has also directed the Amotekun Corps to deepen collaboration with police and other security agencies to reinforce safety across communities.

On the pending Supreme Court decision concerning the local government dispute, Adeleke called for patience and emphasized that no citizen should take the law into their hands. He also expressed confidence that the judiciary will resolve its internal issues without interference from the executive arm.
