Gov Umo Eno Receives NCDMB Delegation as Akwa Ibom Hosts 2025 Governing Council Retreat

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on Thursday received the management of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), who paid him a courtesy visit ahead of the Board’s 2025 Governing Council Retreat currently ongoing in the state.

The delegation was led by the Chairman and Co-Chairman of the Board, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo.

The retreat, which commenced on Thursday, October 30, 2025, is being held at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Ikot Ekpene, drawing key industry players and government officials to the state.

Speaking during the visit, Senator Lokpobiri said Akwa Ibom was deliberately chosen as the venue because of its reputation as one of the most peaceful and secure states in Nigeria. He noted that the serene environment makes it ideal for strategic meetings and high-level corporate retreats.

Rt. Hon. Ekpo, in his remarks, also commended Governor Umo Eno for sustaining peace and enhancing infrastructural development in the state. He stated that the positive atmosphere has continued to attract both public and private sector stakeholders who desire a safe and conducive environment for productive engagements.

Governor Umo Eno thanked the ministers and the NCDMB leadership for choosing Akwa Ibom as host, noting that the state remains open for partnerships in the oil and gas value chain. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to promoting economic development, tourism, and industrial growth through peace and stability.

The retreat is expected to feature policy deliberations aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s local content framework, improving domestic capacity in the oil and gas sector, and expanding investment opportunities across host communities.
