In a heartwarming gesture that blended faith, family, and philanthropy, the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, celebrated the dedication of Baby Damaris-Mfoniso, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Isaac, with generous acts of love toward widows and the church community.

During the thanksgiving service held at The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Ata Inim District, Lady Obareki empowered widows with wrappers and cash gifts, and also pledged financial support from the Office of the First Lady for the church’s purchase of a coaster bus.

“I heard your request about the church bus. From the Office of the First Lady, we will support you and the church to buy the coaster bus. I want this to be in memory of Baby Damaris, whom we have come here to honour, so that every time the members of this church get into that bus, they will always remember that it was a gift presented on the occasion of her dedication,”

she said.

She further announced her decision to empower widows on the same occasion, adding that those selected were carefully chosen for this purpose.

“Today as well, I brought some wrappers, and I had asked that some widows should be carefully selected so that we would empower them. Again on the occasion of Baby Damaris’ dedication, as I step down from here, I will hand the wrappers and envelopes to the select widows,”

Lady Obareki stated.

Earlier in his message themed “My Set Time Has Come,” the officiating minister, Pastor Itoro Edem, drew from Psalm 102:12-13, describing the “set time” as a divine moment appointed by God to release miracles, testimonies, and favour into the lives of His people. He emphasized that when one’s time comes, obstacles give way to divine purpose.

Also speaking, Apostle David Akpan admonished parents to be intentional about raising their children with purpose, noting the declining moral values in society and the need for faith-based guidance from early childhood.

The dedication ceremony was attended by prominent personalities including Mrs. Enobong Edidem, wife of the Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly; Mrs. Helen Ekong, wife of the Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources; Mrs. Edidiong Okponung, wife of the Chairman of Udung-Uko Local Government Council; Hon. Imaobong Emmanuel, Vice-Chairman of Etinan Local Government Council; aides and staff of the Office of the First Lady, and representatives of the GIFA Office.

The event marked yet another demonstration of Lady Obareki’s compassion-driven leadership, reinforcing the First Lady’s Office’s commitment to community support, women empowerment, and faith-based development in Akwa Ibom State.
