Dangote Refinery has announced it would suspend selling petrol in Naira starting Saturday September 28, 2025.
In a message to its customers, the refinery announced that it had already exhausted its crude oil allocations priced in Naira, which meant it could no longer sell petrol in the local currency.
The Group Commercial Operations mentioned in the memo, “We cannot sustain PMS sales in Naira going forward.”
The refinery has requested that customers involved in current Naira transactions formally ask for refunds.
It assured all customers that additional information would be provided once the issue was resolved and Naira sales recommended.
