Uyo, Nigeria – In the build-up to the 38th anniversary of Akwa Ibom State’s creation, women across the state gathered in high spirits and with bright smiles to offer praise and thanksgiving for God’s enduring mercies and blessings upon the state.
The September edition of the Women’s Monthly Prayer, themed “Month of Evidence”, was held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Government House, Uyo. The Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, led the prayers and songs of thanksgiving. She took the Bible reading from Exodus 33:14–23 and Matthew 7:7–10, invoking gratitude for divine guidance and protection over the years.
Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Inibehe Etukudo, in her address, highlighted the consistency of God’s blessings in the state, which she said are evident in the administration of Governor Umo Eno. She described the governor as gender-friendly and supportive of Akwa Ibom women.
She further urged women to participate in the state anniversary thanksgiving service scheduled for Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the International Worship Centre. According to her, the event would not only be a time of gratitude to God but also an opportunity to acknowledge Governor Eno’s gender-inclusive leadership.
Etukudo also announced plans for a memorial service in honour of the First Lady, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, on September 26, 2025, at the All Nations Christian Ministry International (ANCMI) in Eket. She noted that Pastor Patience’s legacy of impact continues to inspire Akwa Ibom women.
Delivering an exhortation on the theme, “September, My Month of Evidence”, Evangelist Becky Udom encouraged women to remain steadfast in faith, noting that true evidence is found in divine rest. She reminded attendees to stay vigilant in expectation of their blessings.
The service featured testimonies, birthday celebrations for September-born women, and special intercessory prayers for the state, the governor and his administration, the Office of the First Lady/GIFA, and the nation.
The prayers and celebration formed a key part of the build-up to Akwa Ibom’s 38th anniversary, showcasing the central role of women in shaping the state’s spirit of thanksgiving and unity.

Leading the gathering on Thursday, September 18, 2025, Uyo, during the Women’s Monthly Prayer,Government House, Uyo, for the September edition of tagged “Month of Evidence”, the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, who took the bible reading from Exodus 33:14-23 and Matthew 7:7-10, offered prayers and songs of praise to God for His blessings through the years.
In her address, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Inibehe Etukudo, said the blessings of God upon the state has been consistent and evident in the current administration of Governor Umo Eno, whom she described as gender friendly and supportive of Akwa Ibom women.
She encouraged Akwa Ibom women to attend the State anniversary thanksgiving service which holds on Sunday, September 21,2025, at the International Worship Centre, saying the service would afford the women the opportunity not only to thank God but to appreciate the gender friendly disposition of Governor Eno.
