Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Monday said Governor Biodun Oyebanji will remain in office for a second term.
Olayinka disclosed that Oyebanji would remain the governor of Ekiti State till 2030.
Posting on X, the Minister’s spokesman warned governorship aspirants against wasting their money.
Olayinka said by November ending, those making money off governorship aspirants would have ceased.
He wrote: “In Ekiti, by this time in November, this year, chopping from Governorship aspirants would have ended.
“It is normal and good for the State as there will be contributions to the personal economy of some people, especially the Four-Four-Years Professional Politicians. Till 2030, it is BAO.”
Records by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says Ekiti State governorship election holds in June 2026.
Recently, former governors in the state openly endorsed BAO for a second term.
