The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Ladipo Johnson, said this in a statement on Tuesday.

Johnson disclosed that said the NEC meeting would iron out various important issues, including upcoming congresses and the national convention, a review of recent by-elections, and plans for mass mobilisation and new member registration.

According to him, the NEC meeting would also discuss ongoing constitutional reviews aimed at safeguarding Nigeria’s democracy.

Ahead of the 2027 elections, Johnson noted that NNPP remains open to various political options aligned with its founding principles and national interest.

“Politics is dynamic, but our actions and decisions must be within the context of principles and values,” he said.

He listed three possible paths for the party, including forming an alliance or coalition, contesting the election independently, or supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“So, to this extent, NNPP is still open to the three options we have talked about in the past: to form a kind of alliance or coalition, remain as NNPP and prosecute the election as an individual entity, or support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election,” he added.

The party’s spokesman, therefore, called on members to remain calm, assuring that the final decisions will prioritise the interests of the Nigerian people.

He also urged members to actively participate in the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise and prepare for the upcoming nationwide mobilisation and membership drive.
