Come to our rescue – Kwara monarch appeals to govt over banditry

Oba Isiaka Sadiku Lawal, traditional ruler of Sagbe community near Oke-Ode in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara state, has sent a passionate plea to the state government, local government chairman and Commander of Nigerian Army, Sobi Cantonment to come to the rescue of communities under attack by armed bandits.

In an audio message which has gone viral, the monarch listed the seven communities affected by bandits invasion to include, Ologoma, Ajegunle, Igbo-Agbon, Alabadera, Owode, Alasoro and Alawo.

According to his account, the mentioned communities have been deserted by the residents for fear of their lives.

“To add salt to injury, the bandits invaded Bankole community near Sagbe and killed one person, rustled cattle, while the number of people abducted by the bandits cannot be accounted for,” Oba Isiaka added.

He revealed that Sagbe community has no police post, facility or any presence of security forces, while “our vigilantes have tried their best to no avail in securing the communities.”

The monarch appealed to the government to deploy soldiers, DSS and other security forces to rescue the communities from the bandits incursions into the areas.
