The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kebbi State has dismissed reports alleging mass defections from the party to opposition platforms.
In a statement issued on Monday in Birnin Kebbi, the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, described the claims as false and without basis. The statement was also endorsed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor, Ahmed Idris.
Kana-Zuru stated that the party is not experiencing a loss of membership but is instead gaining new supporters from other political groups.
“We are growing stronger and stronger in the state and at the national level,” he said, urging members of the public to disregard the defection rumours.
He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to its internal cohesion and continued engagement with supporters across the state.
