Insecurity: Nigeria govt deploys four armoured personnel carriers to Kebbi

The Federal Government has deployed four Armoured Personnel Carriers, APCs, to Kebbi State to enhance security operations and combat banditry.

The vehicles were presented on Sunday at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi by the Commanding Officer of the 223 Light Tank Battalion, Zuru, Lt. Colonel M.S. Saleh, and the Commanding Officer of the 1 Battalion Rear, Birnin Kebbi, Major A.P. Azubuine.

Governor Nasir Idris, who inspected the APCs, said the deployment would strengthen the capacity of security forces, particularly in vulnerable areas affected by banditry.

He also stated that the state government would continue to support the families of security personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The governor commended the Federal Government and military leadership for prioritizing the security situation in the state and the country at large.

Lt. Colonel Saleh, in his remarks, said troops were making sustained efforts to tackle insecurity and urged the public to support military operations with timely and credible intelligence.

Two of the APCs were formally presented to the state by Major Azubuine as part of additional logistics support from the Nigerian Army.
