A newly released opinion poll conducted by Centerline Consulting Ltd has revealed a commanding lead for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the buildup to the Osun 2026 gubernatorial election. According to the poll, the PDP currently enjoys a massive 73.8% support rating among respondents, placing it far ahead of other political parties in the state.

The poll, which sampled opinions across all three senatorial districts of Osun State, indicates that the PDP’s popularity is rooted in what analysts call “a strong perception of performance” under the current administration. It marks an early sign of political stability within the ruling party as it prepares for the 2026 electoral contest.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) trails significantly behind with 12.1%, while the All Progressives Congress (APC)—which governed the state until the 2022 transition—sits in third place with 9.07%. Other parties combined account for 5.03% of voter preference, according to the data visualization provided in the survey.

The polling chart differentiates between strong and weak ratings using color codes: the PDP bar is marked in green, symbolizing strength, while all other parties, including ADC, APC, and others, are depicted in red—denoting weak standings as of now.

Political observers suggest that the PDP’s high rating may be linked to Governor Ademola Adeleke’s recent endorsement by the Osun PDP caucus for a second term, as well as the state party’s decision to back President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid—an unusual bipartisan nod aimed at fostering intergovernmental harmony.

While the figures offer a glimpse into current public sentiment, analysts caution that the political landscape in Osun remains dynamic. “There’s still a long road to 2026,” one analyst noted, “and public opinion can shift depending on governance performance, intra-party stability, and opposition strategy.”
