Soldiers under Operation LAFIYAN JAMA’A have successfully eliminated two bandits and seized weapons during a targeted ambush mission in Plateau State.
The operation took place on Tuesday evening in the Nteng area of Qua’an Pan Local Government Area, following intelligence about the movement of suspected criminals.
This was disclosed in a post on X by security analyst, Zagazola Makama on Thursday.
According to the post, the troops waited in ambush along the bandits’ suspected route and engaged them at about 7:34 p.m.
Makama revealed that the soldiers killed two bandits during the confrontation, then combed the area and found an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and 24 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
He added that the recovered items are now in military custody, and security in the area has been strengthened to prevent further attacks.
