Bandits suspected to be members of Lakurawa have reportedly killed about 15 persons in Kwallajiya village of Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
It is believed that the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when the suspected terrorists invaded the village and attacked them.
The victims, according to a source, had been buried according to Islamic rites on the same Wednesday evening.
He expressed the people’s deep concern about the incessant acts of violence by the bandits.
According to him, such atrocities were often aided by information the bandits received from some residents of the villages.
He added, “It is very important that the people in the affected villages intensify efforts to cooperate with security agencies in order to curb the activities of the evil men in their areas.”
DSP Ahmed Rufai, the police spokesman in the state could not be reached.
