President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Ibrahim Gusau has commended Abakaliki FC for their remarkable performance in this season’s President Federation Cup.
Abakaliki FC will face Kwara United in the final of Nigeria’s oldest football competition at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos on Saturday.
The Rice Boys defeated Nigeria Premier Football League,NPFL, clubs, Katsina United, Ikorodu City , and Enyimba on their way to the final.
Gusau declared that the team’s journey to the final is a testament of their quality.
“In the history of the FA Cup, NNL clubs have proven their worth, and Abakaliki FC’s presence in this year’s final is a testament to their quality,” Gusau said.
The competition between Abakaliki FC and Kwara United will earn a berth in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Newspot recalled that El-kanemi Warriors won the competition last year defeating Abia Warriors 2-0 in the final.
