SOKOTO, NIGERIA – As Governor Ahmad Aliyu marks two years in office, his administration’s people-oriented development initiatives are earning commendation from across the country, with special recognition coming from Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Tamaje Water Scheme and the upgraded Sokoto Geographical Information System (SOGIS), Governor Buni applauded Governor Aliyu for his focus on delivering impactful and inclusive projects that directly benefit the people of Sokoto State.
The Tamaje Water Scheme is projected to supply over 3 million gallons of clean water daily to surrounding communities, significantly improving access to safe water. On the other hand, the newly upgraded SOGIS is expected to modernize land management, reduce administrative irregularities, and increase internally generated revenue for Sokoto State.
Also present at the event was Hon. Kabiru Ibrahim Masari, Senior Special Assistant to the President, who commissioned a key road project linking Gawon Nama and Girabshi. The new road is expected to ease traffic congestion in Sokoto metropolis. Hon. Masari used the opportunity to endorse Governor Ahmad Aliyu for a second term, lauding him for staying true to his campaign promises.
The occasion drew an array of dignitaries including Distinguished Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar III, and former Governor Mal. Yahaya Abdulkarim, among others, in a show of widespread support for the governor’s leadership.
In a statement signed by Nuruddeen Muhammad Mahe, Senior Special Assistant on Strategic Communication to the Sokoto State Government, the administration reiterated its commitment to delivering more transformative projects in the years ahead.
