Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has confirmed the arrest of 22 suspects in connection with the killing of 12 Kaduna indigenes in Plateau State.
Newspot reports that the victims were reportedly ambushed and killed last Saturday while traveling through the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State on their way to a wedding in Quan Pan LGA.
Speaking during a visit to the injured survivors receiving treatment at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna, Sani condemned the attack as “barbaric.”
He said he was in constant communication with Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and President Bola Tinubu to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
Sani commended Kaduna residents for remaining peaceful despite the provocation and urged community leaders to discourage acts of violence.
Newspot reported the governor had earlier called on security agencies to arrest and prosecute all those involved in the attack.
