Nigeria’s Omewa wins Danish Women’s League Player of the Season

Fortuna Hjørring striker Joy Omewa has been crowned Best Player in the Danish Women’s League, Newspot reports.

The prestigious award came with a brand-new Mercedes-Benz.

Omewa was recognised for her impressive performances for Fortuna Hjørring, who won both the Danish Women’s League title and the Danish Cup.

The 23-year-old finished as the league’s top scorer, with 22 goals and four assists from 23 games.

The talented striker previously represented Nigeria at both U-17 and U-20 levels.

She joined Fortuna Hjørring from Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL side Confluence Queens in 2022.
