England manager, Thomas Tuchel believes that the absence of Arsenal and Liverpool in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup will give both clubs a boost in the Premier League title race.
The revamped, 32-team Club World Cup will take place from June 14 – July 13 in USA.
Only Chelsea and Manchester City will represent the Premier League after winning the UEFA Champions League in recent years.
However, Tuchel expects the tournament to have a huge impact on Chelsea and Man City when the 2025/26 Premier League begins.
According to him, Arsenal and Liverpool will a huge advantage of not being involved in the competition amid next season’s Premier League title race.
“I think it will have a huge impact and it will give Liverpool and Arsenal a huge advantage in the next season [Premier League title race] to not be there,” Tuchel said of the Club World Cup as quoted by Metro UK.
“I think it will be a very nice experience for the players who are there to play this tournament for the first time so it is mixed feelings about it.”
