The appointment of former Katsina governor, Ibrahim Shehu Shema as the Chairman of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) will bring the needed transformation in the FCT, the Sarkin Gobir of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir said.
Gobir, who is also the Wazirin Kasar Hausa, made the observation in a statement he issued on Saturday, expressing delight that President Tinubu’s choice of the former governor aligns with his administration’s hallmark of putting the right people at the right place.
It could be recalled that in one of the latest appointments made by President Tinubu, Shema, a former governor of Katsina State was made the Chairman of FCDA.
Gobir described the appointment as a “fitting recognition of Dr. Shema’s unwavering commitment to public service, his sterling leadership legacy, and his deep-rooted patriotism.”
He noted that considering Shema’s remarkable service as a former Governor of Katsina State, coupled with his traditional roles and contributions to the grassroot communities, he was uniquely positioned to bring transformative leadership to the FCDA.
Gobir described the FCDA as an institution crucial to the ongoing development of Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.
“This appointment is a commendable step by Mr. President,” Alhaji Gobir said, adding, “and I have no doubt that Dr. Shema will bring to bear his visionary outlook and administrative expertise for the progress of Abuja and the nation at large.”
