Two persons have been confirmed dead following a bandit attack on Matsai community in Kaita Local Government Area of Katsina State on Sunday night.
According to a post shared by security analyst Bakatsine on X on Monday, the armed bandits invaded the village opening fire on residents, killing two and injuring another.
The attackers reportedly carted away household valuables and caused panic among villagers.
“Last night, bandits invaded the Matsai community in Kaita LGA, Katsina State. They killed two people, injured one and looted several valuable things during the invasion,” Bakatsine wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
Kaita LGA, which shares a border with the Niger Republic, has experienced recurring bandit attacks in recent years.
