Saudi Arabia’s low-cost carrier, flynas, has inked a major deal with Safran Seats France to supply advanced seating solutions for 60 Airbus A320neo aircraft, signaling the airline’s push to enhance in-flight comfort and expand medium-haul routes.
The agreement was unveiled during the Arabian Travel Market 2025, marking the first-ever collaboration between the two aviation giants. Each aircraft will be fitted with 174 of Safran’s Z200 Economy class seats, specially designed to improve passenger experience on flights of up to six hours.
The Z200 seats will include custom cushion designs, portable device holders, and power supply ports (USB A and C with 60W output). Added features like lower literature pockets, coat hooks, and cup holders reflect an attention to practical passenger needs.
In a bid to attract a more premium segment, the first four rows of each aircraft will offer a premium configuration—wider pitch, adjustable headrests, and middle seat blockers, ideal for business travelers or those seeking added comfort without switching aircraft types.
Bander Almohanna, flynas CEO, emphasized that the move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s National Civil Aviation Strategy, which seeks to connect the Kingdom with 250 international destinations and attract 100 million tourists annually by 2030. The initiative also complements the Pilgrims Experience Program, designed to facilitate easier access to Islam’s Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah.
The new seats are expected to be delivered in the second half of 2025, marking a major milestone for both flynas and Safran as they collaborate to raise standards in regional aviation.
