The court directed top US law enforcement agencies to release confidential information related to President Bola Tinubu, stemming from a purported federal investigation in the 1990s.

In a ruling delivered on Tuesday, Judge Beryl Howell stated that withholding the information from public disclosure is “neither logical nor plausible.”

The court’s decision has sparked interest and scrutiny, given the high-profile nature of the individuals involved.

According to Onanuga, the Presidency’s lawyers are currently reviewing the US court ruling to determine the next course of action.

Onanuga emphasized that the reports in question, including those compiled by Agent Moss of the FBI and the DEA, have been publicly available for over 30 years.

He also noted that these reports did not indict President Tinubu, suggesting that the court’s decision may not yield any new revelations.

Onanuga wrote: “Journalists have sought the Presidency’s reaction to the ruling last Tuesday by a Washington DC judge ordering the US FBI and DEA to release reports connected with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Our response is as follows.

“There is nothing new to be revealed. The report by Agent Moss of the FBI and the DEA report have been in the public space for more than 30 years. The reports did not indict the Nigerian leader. The lawyers are examining the ruling.”
