Myanmar, Thailand earthquake: How high-rise buildings collapsed with people inside [VIDEO]

Videos of the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar and Thailand on Friday morning have surfaced.

Some residents were able to capture the moments high-rise building collapsed leaving many dead and many more injured.

Newspot reported earlier that the United States Geological Survey, USGS said that hundreds of people poured out of swaying buildings in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.

USGS also said the quake was shallow, at a depth of just 10km (six miles) with the epicentre near the central city of Mandalay, about 50km (30 miles) east of the city of Monywa.

And death counts from the incident are rising from the earthquake in Myanmar, which is in a state of chaos after a coup in 2021.

The Guardian UK reports that startled residents in central Bangkok poured out of high-rise condominiums and hotels.

There are over 17 million people living in greater Bangkok area with many of them living in high-rise apartments.

The quake was forceful enough to send water sloshing out of pools, some high up in high-rises, as the tremor shook.
