The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Anglican Bishop of Osun Diocese, RT Rev Dr Folusho O. Babatunji, and the entire Church community following a fire inferno that affected a section of the Church building in Osogbo on Monday.
Governor Adeleke shared his sorrow over the significant damage inflicted by the fire, stating that he is devastated by the loss experienced by the Church. He emphasized the importance of public vigilance and safety precautions to prevent future fire outbreaks, highlighting that this issue requires a collective effort to combat.
In his statement, the Governor commended the rapid response of the rescue teams, particularly the Fire Service and emergency workers, whose timely intervention prevented the further spread of the flames and ensured that no lives were lost during the incident.
“I condole with the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese, Rt Rev. Dr Folusho O. Babatunji, over the fire incident that has devastated a part of the Church situated in Osogbo, the Osun State capital,” the Governor stated. “It is painful to hear about the extensive damage caused by the fire, especially knowing it has rendered a segment of the Church unusable.”
Governor Adeleke expressed his sympathy and that of the Osun State Government to the Church and the Bishop, recognizing the personal losses that may have resulted from the unfortunate incident.

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has sympathized with the Anglican Bishop of Osun Diocese, RT Rev Dr Folusho O. Babatunji and the entire Church, for the fire inferno that affected a segment of the Church building in Osogbo, on Monday.
Governor Adeleke expresses his pains on the damage caused by the fire incident on the place of worship, saying he is devastated by the thought of loss that the inferno wrought on the Church’s building before it was put out.
The Governor urges increasing alertness of the public to precautions in order to curb the incidence of fire outbreak in the state, noting that fire outbreak is a menace that requires collective effort to stop.
He commends the swift intervention of the rescue team, particularly the Fire Service and emergency workers to the scene of the fire outbreak, pointing out that their quick response prevented the further spread of the inferno and ensured that no live was lost.
“I condole with the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese, Rt Rev. Dr Folusho O. Babatunji over the fire incident that torches a part of the Church, situated in Osogbo, the Osun state capital, on Monday,” the Governor’s condolence message reads in part.
“It is painful to hear about the devastating damage of the fire, especially as it leaves a segment of the Church ravaged and unusable any longer.
“This is heartwrenching, and I want to convey my sympathy and that of the Government of Osun State to the Church and the Bishop, who may have suffered personal losses as a result of the fire incident.”
