President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt condolences to Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, following the passing of his mother-in-law, Hajia Hauwa Yakub Usman, who died at the age of 70.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Tinubu expressed his profound sadness and offered his sympathy to the minister’s family, their in-laws, and all relatives. “It is with profound sadness that I extend my condolences to you and your family on the loss of Hajia Hauwa Yakub Usman. Her legacy will undoubtedly live on through the lives she touched,” Tinubu stated.
The President also prayed for the repose of her soul, saying, “May Almighty Allah forgive her shortcomings, grant her eternal rest, and admit her to Aljannah Firdaus. May He also grant your family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss and provide you with solace in the cherished memories of her life and deeds.”
Tinubu’s spokesman, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that the President’s message of support underscores his commitment to standing by the minister during this difficult period.
