A car drove into a crowd near Munich’s central train station on Thursday, leaving several people injured, according to police
Newspot learnt that at least 15 people have been hurt in the incident, which occurred just a day before the start of the Munich Security Conference as reported by German newspaper Bild.
US Vice President JD Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are expected to arrive in the city later today for the event.
Authorities launched a large-scale police operation at the scene. In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Munich police confirmed that the driver had been detained and was no longer considered a threat.
Local broadcaster BR reported that the victims appeared to be part of a demonstration associated with a strike organized by the Verdi trade union.
