United States President Donald Trump has again insisted that the US will take control of the Gaza Strip.
Trump made this statement while meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah at the White House on Tuesday.
Newspot reports that it was their first meeting since Trump announced his plan to take over Gaza.
Recently, Trump suggested he could withhold aid to Jordan and Egypt unless they agreed to take in Gazans.
However, speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, with King Abdullah seated to his right, Trump insisted he would not back down from his stance on Gaza, which triggered global condemnation when he revealed it last week.
“We are going to take it [Gaza],” Trump said.
“We are going to hold it. We are going to cherish it,” he added.
Speaking to reporters on board Air Force One on Sunday, Trump said he is committed to “buying and owning” the war-ravaged enclave.
According to him, there is nothing to move back into in Gaza, adding that the place is a demolition site.
