A man has warned others after his phone was almost stolen while creating content on a bridge in Lagos State.
The man @malignthug decided to test whether Nigeria was a safer location than other nations by leaving his phone on the bridge for half an hour to see whether it would be stolen in a video posted on TikTok.
A young man found his phone after dropping it on the bridge while it was recording people passing by. He walked around the whole place and then picked up the phone off the ground.
Without delay, @malignthug yelled at him from a distance, exclaiming in his Yoruba dialect that it didn’t take long for someone to try to steal the phone off the bridge. To get his phone back, he got into a physical conflict with the man.
The terrifying encounter with the thief shocked him, prompting him to spread the word about the importance of being vigilant when creating content in public.
Online responses to the video have been conflicting. Some have said that if the thief were with his colleagues, the man would not be able to get his phone back, and if he did, he could have to pay a specific amount.
Some netizens jokingly remarked about the switch in the man’s voice after the phone was nearly stolen in a twinkle of an eye.
