Gov Yusuf laments death of Special Adviser days after swearing-in

Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden demise of his newly appointed Special Adviser on Works, Engr. Ahmad Ishaq Bunkure, who passed away on Wednesday in Egypt, just a day after his swearing-in.

In a condolence message released by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Wednesday, Governor Yusuf described the late Engr.

Bunkure as a dedicated professional whose contributions were expected to play a key role in his administration’s development agenda.

“This is a heartbreaking moment for us as a government,” the governor said.

“Engr. Bunkure was a man of immense talent and professionalism. His expertise was vital to our vision for transforming Kano State’s infrastructure. His loss is an irreplaceable tragedy, not only to his family but also to the entire Kano political and professional community.”

Governor Yusuf prayed for Allah’s mercy on the deceased and extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, urging them to find solace in the legacy of dedication and integrity that Engr. Bunkure left behind.

“He will be remembered as a man of principle and an exemplary public servant,” the governor added.

Condolences have continued to pour in, including from His Excellency, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and members of the Kano State Government.

Recall that Engr. Ahmad Ishaq Bunkure had only been appointed as Special Adviser on Works, making his sudden death a shock to many.
