Ederson and Matheus Nunes both remain doubts for Manchester City’s Premier League match against Everton on Boxing Day.
The Brazil international missed City’s 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday, with Stefan Ortega starting in goal.
Nunes was also unable to make the bench having played at left-back in City’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on December 15.
‘We train this afternoon, we will see how many players we have available,’ Guardiola said on Tuesday when asked the situations of Ederson and Nunes.
‘Right now I don’t know.’
When asked about the extent of John Stones’ injury after he was forced off at half time in the defeat to Villa, Guardiola replied: ‘I said the same, I didn’t talk with the doctor but apparently if he could not continue in the second half at Villa Park it’s because he will not be ready, but we will see.’
Guardiola also revealed that City’s players will train at night on Christmas Day ahead of their game against Everton on Thursday.
‘We train today, we train tomorrow night [on Christmas Day]. We stay over here and we are going to play on Boxing Day,’ Guardiola said.
‘They have been with their families today [Christmas Eve], today will be at home with their families.
‘Tomorrow they will be with their families in the morning and then at night will be here. Hopefully they want to be here because it’s our job and our duty.’
Everton, meanwhile, will be without Ashley Young, who is suspended, while Dwight McNeil is also unlikely to feature.
‘Youngy is out,’ Everton manager Sean Dyche said on Monday. ‘He hurt his neck against Chelsea but he should be fine with that.
‘Dwight is still touch-and-go. We hope it will settle down, probably not for this one, but sooner rather than later.’
