As I mourn the loss of my sister Omotunde, my heart is heavy with sorrow. A deep sadness fills me, and a lump in my throat chokes back my tears as I reflect on the life we shared and what life will be without her.

The sting of death is sharp and relentless, a wound that does not heal easily. The memories of those we’ve lost flood our minds, leaving us to question the meaning of life itself.

Life is a mix of joy and sorrow—joy at the moment of birth, and sorrow when we face our inevitable departure, a debt we all must pay.

Between life and death lies a space we must fill with thoughts, words, deeds, and sometimes inaction. In doing so, we bless our days on Earth and prepare ourselves for the life that follows.

In time, our grief will soften through love, and our sadness will gradually fade. The kindness of those who love us will help restore our faith in God, the ultimate provider of all things in life.

Love truly heals, and just as the sun sets and rises, bringing new beginnings each day, a new chapter begins after the loss of a loved one.

Omotunde, you left us too soon.

Rest in peace, my dear sister, my beloved Àbúrò.

    Yours
    Otunba (Giwa) Ayodeji Osibogun
