Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, George Akume, says the tax reform bills are visionary legislation designed to rescue the nation’s economy.

This is as he urged Nigerians to support their passage through the National Assembly.

Akume made this statement on TVC’s Politics on Sunday program, stressing that the reforms were in the best interest of Nigeria and its citizens.

According to him, President Bola Tinubu has not lost public goodwill despite the introduction of Tax Reform Bills and other strategic economic measures implemented over the past 17 months.

“These bills are well-envisioned for Nigeria and Nigerians. Let us allow the legislative processes to take their course. These reforms will ultimately benefit everyone when fully implemented,” Akume stated.

While highlighting the administration’s economic strategies, the SGF explained that the removal of fuel subsidies and the harmonization of foreign exchange windows were key steps in stabilizing the economy.

“It is easy to destroy but difficult to build. These reforms aim to rebuild the Nigeria that was destroyed by previous administrations,” Akume remarked.

He expressed optimism that the results of those measures would soon be visible, restoring confidence in the nation’s economic trajectory.
