The Abia Orientation Agency, ABSOA, has called on eligible youths in the state, between the ages of 18 and 24 to take advantage of ongoing recruitments in the Nigerian Armed Forces by making themselves available.
The Director General of ABSOA, Urenna Abazie who gave the advice while sensitizing the youths on the importance of their recruitment, lamented that youths from Abia had not shown enough interest in the ongoing recruitment exercises.
She reminded the youths that other ethnic nationalities taking advantage of recruitment into the Army, Navy and Air Force will likely grow through the ranks and various security formations in the country in the future if the attitude of the youths of the region continues.
She urged eligible and interested youths to apply free of charge before the 20th of December 2024 deadline.
Abazie further assured those who applied or intend to apply that the Abia State government would support them.
According to the Orientation Agency Director General, the Abia State government will ensure that the state gets its fair share in the federation’s recruitment quota.
She further urged Abia youths to desist from illicit drugs, cultism, body tattooing and other negative behaviours.
