Police in Anambra State have arrested a man, Ebuka Ndubuisi, who participated in an armed robbery operation and also collected N15 million as ransom from a kidnap victim.
Ndubuisi was arrested based on information provided by his gang member, Miracle, who was earlier apprehended in Awka.
A press release by the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the suspect was arrested in Obosi, Idemili North.
Ikenga, in the release, said: “Police operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Enugu-Ukwu, swiftly acted on information provided by the suspect (Miracle) in custody over the case of armed robbery and kidnapping.
“The victim had paid N15 million to the suspects, and his vehicle was also taken, but his vehicle was recovered from Ebuka Ndubuisi, ‘M,’ aged 29 years, on 7/12/2024, at 8:03 pm in Obosi, Idemili North.”
The Police PRO said that upon the arrest of a member of the gang named Miracle, the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, directed immediate action, leading to Ndubuisi’s arrest on Saturday night.
He added that investigations into the matter would continue, after which the suspects would be charged to court.
