Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies head coach Jerry Tshabalala has expressed disappointment at his side’s loss to Edo Queens.
The holders crashed out of the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League following a 2-1 loss to the Edo Queens in Casablanca on Saturday night.
The South Africans led 1-0 deep into stoppage time but conceded twice in the final minutes.
Tshabala said his players didn’t show enough fight in the game.
“To be honest, I don’t think we showed any hunger to say we want this more,” he said after the game.
“If you come to the tournament and you start on a negative it becomes difficult to bounce back, but we tried to show character to bounce back in the second game.
”In the third game it wasn’t to be, the players gave it their all but we didn’t defend nicely as a team.”
