Former Media Aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad on Wednesday, charged Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano to bring about an urban renewal in the state.
Ahmad said Abba should replicate in Kano State what former Governor Nasir El-Rufai did in Kaduna State during his tenure.
Posting on X, the former presidential spokesman charged the governor to establish two cities outside of the Kano metropolis.
Ahmad said Gaya and Dambatta cities should be created from the Kano metropolis under Governor Yusuf.
According to him, the creation of these two cities would decongest the Kano metropolis.
He wrote: “Dear Gov. @KYusufAbba, Can we please have a Kano Urban Renewal? Similar to the one Kaduna underwent under Gov. El-Rufai?
“Let’s have at least two cities outside Kano metropolitan.
“Let’s say Gaya City and Dambatta City, to decongest Kano, for sustainable growth and development.”
